Arlando Vail

Senior Victim Outreach Worker

Arlando “Lando” Vail is the Violence Outreach Supervisor for Safe Streets Safe Neighborhoods. He has worked in violence prevention and de-escalation for over three years, first as a Violence Interrupter in South St. Louis with CURE Violence before joining the Safe Streets Team in 2023. In this role, Lando actively detects and mediates potentially volatile situations, responds to shooting incidents, and offers vital services to victims and families—often stepping in to prevent cycles of retaliation before they begin.

Lando’s approach is rooted in building trust, shifting harmful community norms, and promoting healing through consistent presence and compassion. Certified in community violence intervention (CVI), he strives for excellence and lasting change in every neighborhood he serves, believing that violence impacts everyone, and so does prevention.

What motivates him most is seeing transformation—especially in young people choosing new paths. For Lando, success lies in helping even one person move toward a safer, more hopeful future. “We’re here to support the community,” he says, “and to remind folks they’re not alone.”
