About us

Mission

Safe Streets Safe Neighborhoods (SSSN) provides immediate, trauma-informed, and culturally competent support to individuals and communities impacted by gun violence. We offer direct services and referrals to gunshot survivors, victims’ families, and affected neighborhoods to aid in recovery and healing.

Vision

We envision a safer St. Louis where violence is rare, and all victims receive the resources and care they need to rebuild their lives and strengthen their communities.

Objectives

Through our rapid response and de-escalation efforts, SSSN aims to:

1

Engage Proactively

We aim to engage proactively with communities at risk of violence, working to de-escalate tensions and prevent conflicts through communication, resource access, and mental health support.

2

Respond immediately

Our team is committed to respond immediately to incidents of community violence, addressing the needs of victims, perpetrators, and their families to reduce the likelihood of retaliation and alleviate financial burdens caused by violence.

3

Promote Community Healing

Promote community healing by organizing events that foster trust, build relationships, and strengthen connections between SSSN staff and the communities we serve.

Community Partners

We work hand-in-hand with local organizations committed to building safer, healthier neighborhoods. These partnerships strengthen our ability to provide immediate assistance, long-term support, and hope to those most impacted by violence.
